This workshop will be a great celebration of the beginning of the summer fruits at a beautiful farmstead in the Santa Cruz mountains. I will teach you how to make a low sugar strawberry jam that will have great color and consistency without using added pectin. We will actually go and harvest the strawberries we will use in this recipe out in the farm fields! Cherries are absolutely one of my favorite fruits and since Live Earth does not grow cherries (come on Tom!) we will be getting them from VanDyke Orchard- a 3rd generation farming family in Gilroy. I will teach you how to preserve bing cherries in a light honey syrup that will quickly become one of your favorite decadent treats. Lastly we will make a jam using cherries and strawberries that will have your friends begging for jars as birthday gifts. So delicious. So fun. We will make 3 different recipes and you will take home 2 jars of each totaling 6 jars! So the fun can continue at home. Register early as classes have become quite popular!
