December 15 - Holiday Cookies, 5:30-8:30pm
This region and the climate give us access to delicious fruit year-round, but in particular, the summer fruit just cannot be beaten: peaches, nectarines, strawberries, plums, blackberries, and so many more! For this workshop, we will have a variety of fresh fruit sourced from our local farms available to work with. Because we want to keep the fruit the star of the show, we will be making simple and rustic pastries using different spices, herbs and even an almond frangipane. We will explore how to select different types of fruit to get the results you want in your baking. The skills and recipes that we use in this workshop will easily be transferable to fruit from other seasons.
Join, Suzanne, chef at Happy Girl, in the kitchen while we make a mixed fruit cobbler, individual galettes, and muffins all with our local abundance of delicious summer fruit. We will start by making the galette dough & while that is resting, prepare the fruit cobbler and topping before moving on to the muffins. Those two will be baking while we finish off the galettes.
As everything finishes baking and cooling, we will share an organic meal and the cobbler that we baked together. You’ll have delicious galettes and muffins to take home and enjoy throughout the weekend!
