October 6 - Baking with Preserves, 5:30-8:30pm
So, you have made all of this jam and marmalade and are wondering how you can use it up. At Happy Girl Kitchen we have a lot of fun baking with the preserves that we make and it is fun to share with you some ideas that we have and give you the recipes that you can make at home.
We will start with our classic home-made pop-tart. On this part we will make a classic pastry dough that can be used in many different ways. It is a pastry dough that is flaky and can be used to make tarts, pies and fruit pockets. We will then fill them with our jam and bake them off. We will make a gluten free thumbprint cookie that tastes great and has a good chewy texture (I will also give you the regular gluten recipe as well). We will also make a jam bar which is a great place for any of your preserves and can also be modified to gluten free very easy. Lastly we will make a holiday classic, Lindzer cookies, with raspberry jam.
In all of our baked goods we use low sugar and we use high quality ingredients such as organic butter and flour so that you will be able to taste the difference!!! You will be all set for the holidays with this workshop!
We will share a light dinner together and you will take home our baked goodies too. It is going to be a fun night!
This is going to be a really fun workshop, so register early as they tend to fill up fast! The workshop will be held at Happy Girl Kitchen Flagship location at 173 Central ave, Pacific Grove 93950.
