Spicy Apricot Shrub
I am declaring 2014 the year of the shrub. Shrubs are a very old fashioned way of preserving fruit juice with vinegar and spices. This one has the sweet flavor of Blenheim Apricots with a kick of chili to make it interestingly spicy! It makes amazingly refreshing drinks! You can add it directly to sparkling water in a ratio of 1:5 for the best "mocktail" at the party. Your friends will all want some. You can also add a little kick if you like too. Shrubs are your secret trick in the kitchen for making all sorts of great drinks and sauces. That is just the beginning. Think of anything that needs sweet and sour and add a splash of shrub!
