November 14 - Coffee Talk with Javi Romero 8:30-11am (NOTE - This is a morning workshop)
Javi Romero of Romero's Heritage coffee knows more about coffee than almost anyone as he grew up in Honduras amidst a coffee farm in the mountains and he is now here - in Monterey County - roasting coffee from his families farm (and of course beans from around the world).
In this coffee talk you will learn so much about coffee from bean to cup! You will learn about how coffee is grown, harvested, processed and dried. You will learn about the different qualities of coffees grown in different elevations and regions across the globe. You will learn about storing and roasting techniques and what to look for in buying fresh coffee that supports the farmers. Then we will head on into the hands on portion. You will learn how to brew the perfect pour over coffee! We will experience different tasting notes of different single origin coffees and blends. You will taste the difference in different brewing methods such as French press and a classic batch brew.
It is going to be so much fun to spend the morning together learning about and tasting coffee together. We will also provide Happy Girl Baked goods to go along with the tastings. Each participant will take home sample bags of 3 different coffees from Romero's Heritage Roasting and a real love of coffee! Happy Girl has started to serve this coffee in our cafe since August and it is REALLY AMAZING!!!
We anticipate that this workshop will fill up! So, sign up early and get your spot saved. The workshop will be held at Happy Girl Kitchen location from 8:30-11 am at 173 Central Avenue, Pacific Grove 93950. (this is a morning workshop due to the workshop content!!).
