Live Earth Farm really puts the community back into the word CSA and they have many wonderful programs there for their members. They have a barn that has been converted into a kitchen and dining space that will be great for our workshops. It will be a great experience to learn how to preserve the bounty of the harvest on the land where it is grown.

Happy Girl has a full schedule of workshops offered in Oakland and at Live Earth Farm in Santa Cruz County.
Do you want to enjoy local foods like tomatoes and cherries year round? Do you have an interest in food traditions and preservation and want to learn more? Are you interested in canning, but have a fear of not doing it safely?
Whatever your motivation, Happy Girl Kitchen Co. is offering a variety of workshops on preserving the local harvest in simple and delicious ways. The canning workshops will cover the basics of water bath canning which is suitable for preserving pickles, jams, salsa, tomato sauce and other acidified foods.
It is your time to rediscover the lost art of canning. The workshops are very hands-on and all equipment is provided along with expert instruction from Todd or Jordan Champagne. Todd and Jordan are the owners of Happy Girl Kitchen and are excited to share the secrets and tips they have discovered over the past 8 years. We suggest you bring your favorite apron and a knife.
You will also enjoy an organic lunch made from fresh, local produce. Plus take home an assortment of each recipe we make. A good time guaranteed!
